The Lost Kingdom Opening
It’s been a very busy week with auditions, scene study rehearsals and performing in the epic tale stage play, The Lost Kingdom at The Cupcake Theater in Hollywood, CA.
The big highlight of the week was the opening night of The Lost Kingdom. The night before, at our final tech rehearsal, when our writer/director told the cast to fancy up for the opening night’s industry gala. It’s rare that a small theater opening to have such a grand fancy event. The main impetus for the show is to showcase it as a film/television pitch to studios and networks. In order to ensure press coverage, the producers (Shayla Hudson Williams, Chris Molina and Peggy O’Rouke) have placed a lot of backing into PR and social media. From my understanding, it’s working out great and there’s several interested networks and studios.
For Shayla, this has been a project 18 years in the making. If you know Shayla, you immediately get a sense of her drive, talent and tenacity to make things happen. In addition to producing and keep The Lost Kingdom together, she just closed an 28 month run of The Vagina Monologues and is currently in productions of Avenue Q and Rent.
In addition to being in the presence of Shayla’s awesomeness, I’m fortunate to be surrounded by an amazing cast and crew. This huge cast of 18 of us are truly a family. I love being around professional who love the craft, take it seriously, puts egos aside and take that stage to tell a great story.
Keep living your dreams and go Be Bold, Be Brilliant, Be Bodacious!
