Had a great callback and all was going well and then that age old question that I’ve been getting a lot lately … “Do You Sing”? Ahh, I love that question, mostly cause I don’t really sing, (at least solo) or brand myself as a singer, but I’ve been asked that question quite a bit lately.
ME: Uhh, well I can hold a tune, but I’m not really a soloist or anything.
DIRECTOR: Can you sing a verse of something?
ME: Anything particular?
DIRECTOR: Anything will do.
I decided on a verse of “When You’re Good To Mama” from Chicago. I think I did good and would have made my vocal coach proud.
PRODUCER: Wow, you have a huge theater voice.
ME: Yeah I do. (laughs)
Good times and on to the next one.
