One of the first things that I do when I wake up is check my email. I know it’s not ideal, like I should meditate or something, but it’s just what I do.
Today I was happy that checking my email was part of my routine as I saw a message from my talent agent. It was to thank me for my lovely nomination letter to SAG, nominating him for SAG Agent of the Month. And how lucky am I to have a great agent on my career bus.
Here’s what I wanted SAG to know about my agent:
“I’m nominating Casey Logan of Maxine’s Talent Agency. I am proud to say that Casey is on my career bus due to his amazing work ethic, professionalism, and the fact that he’s always available to discuss strategy and planning on moving my career to the next level. In the past year and a half that I’ve been signed with Maxine’s, Casey has definitely assisted me in moving my career forward. It also makes me feel good when other actors complement and aspire to have the professional and open communication that I have with Casey. The result of our great business relationship is getting me into more casting offices, which resulted in booking my first national commercial and the opportunity to join Screen Actors Guild.

I hope that whoever is on your team continues to move your career forward. Remember, your representation works for you, but it’s your career and you drive the bus. Although you’re driving this career bus, or at least one would hope, be conscious of those you allow on the bus and that they’re bringing their careers and talent along also.
